26 Posts To Go

It's late again and I'm well and truly ready for bed. I just realised that I only have 26 posts to go, including this one, until I have been writing in here for 1 year. I have spent so many hours writing. I have written while watching TV. I have written in between ads on TV. I have written with kids hanging off me. I have written when I have been so tired that I kept falling asleep. I have written when I've thought that I've had nothing to say, and I have written when I had so much to say. But I have written every day for the past 340 days which is really amazing to me. I don't think that I will continue this after I reach my 365 posts, although I will miss it. I might get a chance to do some exercise instead, and I might be able to go to bed somewhat earlier. Who knows, I might continue because I haven't written in here while running on a treadmill yet. That's still a possibility. Stay tuned.

Today was Brandon's last day at kindergarten for the week. Hooray I say. I'm looking forward to getting the chance to hang out with him tomorrow as well as Bailey. As per usual, Bailey and I hung around kindergarten for the first hour while Bailey did every jigsaw puzzle and went over and over again on the obstacle course. Bailey and I, once we did leave lovely Brandon, went up to the local supermarket to get a few food essentials. As we had spent $150.00 less on food shopping this week, we were starting to run out of food. We are trying to be budget conscious.

The 2 of us came home and played. Bailey rode his bike around and around the house while I chased him. He rode so fast that eventually he stopped so that I could catch him and give him a big kiss. He loved it. I managed to make some phone calls about some property deals before we were back in the car picking up Brandon. Brandon had a good day apparently from what I can gather. When we arrived home I went off to work while my husband took the boys up to get their hair cut. Funnily enough only Bailey came back with his hair cut. Brandon had chucked a wobbly and was in no way getting his hair cut. I wish that he could drive himself up there and organise his own appointment.

The 2 boys had dinner outside tonight with me which was really nice. It's a bit warmer in the evenings now so I thought I'd do something different with them. They ate really well. Bailey ate even better than Brandon which was very different. The 2 boys and I ended up kicking the ball around for ages before we wrapped it up and finally headed inside. The kids went crazy now they were inside but my husband and I managed to get them through the night time routine. Thankfully they are sleeping soundly now so that we can take a moment to breath before beginning the clean up of all the destruction from the day so that we can get ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Bailey and I

I spent the whole day with Bailey today. However, Brandon, Bailey and myself did all hang out together until Kindergarten, but then it felt like the only other face that I saw today was Bailey's. Bailey and I stayed around at kindergarten for quite sometime. It wasn't intentional it just evolved that way. Luckily I stayed because I saw Brandon get punched in the nose by another boy. I was standing right next to Brandon when it happened as was the other little boy's teacher's aide when completely unprovoked the other boy threw a punch. There was no apology, there was nothing, except Brandon's tears and my concern. I was so very glad that I had been there and had seen it. Although the other boy has just been assessed as a special needs kid it's still not good enough. I was pretty angry.

Bailey and I did finally leave and we just came home for the day.We played with trains and watched a Thomas DVD intermittently. I also made dinner for Bailey and then also for my husband and I. Brandon was already taken care of for dinner. The day worked really well. I chased Bailey around the house while he pelted around on his tricycle. I'm not sure whether it was because I spent the whole day up close and devoted to Bailey but he actually ate and ate. Normally he is not a big meal eater. He just likes to graze. Today though was a very different story. It really started at morning tea when all Bailey wanted to eat was a huge bowl of corn flakes. For lunch he again just kept eating, so much so that I actually had to tell him that we had to go and pick up Brandon so he needed to finish up. He just kept eating.

Once I had filled my car up with petrol we were right to pick up Brandon. Again, apparently, they had had a concert and Brandon had been the announcer for the show. Yesterday he'd been a performer. It started bucketing down rain at this stage, so the kids and I made a run for the car. Homeward we came. Brandon actually fell asleep in the car on the way home so I put him on the lounge to continue sleeping once we arrived home. He didn't really wake up until just before I took Bailey off to his swimming lessons. Brandon wasn't swimming tonight because he was taking daddy to a special Father's Day night at kindergarten where they were eating Pizza and having a great time.

Bailey did really well at swimming. I was very proud of him. It was so very different being at swimming and only having to look after 1 child. Usually my attention is split between 2 kids. The easiest part with just 1boy is getting them dried and dressed after their lesson. It's always a real juggle with 2 boys. Bailey and I came home just as Brandon and daddy were heading off to kindergarten for their Father's night. I served up dinner to Bailey only to see him eat and eat and eat. I have never seen him eat so much. For dinner he ate 1 big serving of homemade vegetarian lasagna then for dessert he ate 1/2 kilogram of fruit salad. I was astounded. Then he ate 2 tubs of yoghurt, of which meal that was I am not sure. It must have just been a continuation of dessert. That's why 48 hours after the food shopping was done we now have very little food left to get us through the week. Tomorrow I imagine I'm off to do some food shopping.

Brandon and my husband arrived home just as Bailey drifted off to sleep. Brandon wasn't so keen to surrender to sleep but eventually he did. I can't wait until Thursday morning when Brandon's not at kindergarten and I get to hang out with both of my boys. I can't wait.

Pillow Pet Delight

For the past 7 days we have been waiting for the delivery of 2 pillow pets for the boys and unknown to us, today was delivery day. Pillow pets are pillows that fold up to become different animals. Brandon chose the lady bug while Bailey chose the bumble bee. All morning Brandon was asking over and over and over again when we would get them. I kept telling them both that they would be here any day it just depended on the delivery driver. So when Bailey and I came home this afternoon and found the post slip in the mail to say there was a parcel at the post office waiting for us to pick up I was most excited.

Brandon was happy to go to kindergarten this morning. His little friends Dominic and Max were so very excited to see him. This morning at kindergarten Brandon wrote his own name instead of following the dots in the shape of his name. Bailey and I said goodbye to our lovely Brandon and then headed over to a friend's house to say hello and let Bailey and Leanne's little boy Sammy have a play together. We both had a great time. Bailey loved all the trains Sammy had including the huge train table. The 2 of us headed home to have some lunch and hang out washing. It was a very hot day today which was great being that it's still winter.

Once Bailey and I picked up Brandon the 3 of us called into the fruit market as I'd heard a rumour that they were selling bananas for $5.00 a kilogram, $10.00 cheaper than anywhere else. Well they weren't quite that cheap anymore but close to it so we grabbed a few as well as some watermelon, mangoes and a few other things before then jumping into the car and moving on. Our next stop was the post office to collect our parcel. Unfortunately, we were there at 3:30pm but the delivery driver wouldn't be delivering our parcel to the post office until 4:30pm. So home we went because I wasn't hanging out in the shops with tired kids for another hour.

The boys watched Ben 10 on TV once home and then we headed back to the post office. The absolute excitement on the boy's faces was unbelievably. I have never seen such extreme anticipation. The boys were jumping up and down. They were so gorgeous. We ran back to the car where we finally opened the big box and out came the pillow pets. The kids were beside themselves. Needless to say that our evening was spent with the 2 boys appreciating their pillows. Brandon went to bed sleeping on his while Bailey chucked his to the side and went back to his original pillow. Great reflection upon their personalities. I hope boys that you both have a great sleep. See you both in the morning boys.

Out Like A Light

Everyone except Bailey was functioning on very little sleep today. Thanks to Brandon and his severe growing pains, I finally made it to sleep at 4:10am this morning. Pre children I never thought that I could physically survive on 2 1/2hours sleep but I can. My husband and I spent the night rubbing Brandon's legs over and over again. That is the only thing that made him feel better enough to actually fall asleep. Unfortunately, 10 minutes later he was awake again screaming. I can't wait until he is his expected 6 foot 2 and he's at his maximum height so that he doesn't experience these pains anymore.

Almost comically, I was the last one to fall asleep yet I was the first one awake this morning. Truly don't understand that logic. At 4:10am this morning I was out like a light and very confident that I would sleep until 1 of 2 small children woke me up. Alas, it was just my body clock working on auto pilot. Once everyone else was up, my husband travelled way down south to do a quote for some people. Meanwhile the 2 boys and I hung out at home. I had planned to go to the local farmers markets but when a Ben 10 movie came on TV I didn't think that we would get there. I could have put my foot down but I was too tired to exert any authority. Instead I hung out washing and played with Bailey while Brandon watched Ben 10 and then the 3 of us did art and craft while watching Ben 10. My husband arrived home at lunch time and due to the fact we had no food in the house, the 4 of us all ventured up to the bakery and splurged on sausage rolls, pies and a vegetarian triangle. Delicious!

With our tummies now full, my husband and I weighed up the possibility of taking the 2 boys food shopping. We decided on dividing and conquering with me staying at home with the kids and playing/doing chores while my husband went food shopping. The afternoon just disappeared while Brandon, Bailey and myself played outside. Eventually we came in and did a heap of chores around the house, which the boys love doing and I pay them at the end. My husband arrived home with all the shopping, I unpacked it before then disappearing up to the petrol station to fill up on petrol so that I don't have to try and do it tomorrow morning in the kindergarten rush. I also took the DVD back to the movie shop and bought some chocolate. I sat in the car park of the shops for a few minutes enjoying the serenity and munching on a chocolate. Before I knew it I was back in crazy land. The boys were so incredibly crazy that I escorted them out to the trampoline and demanded that they jump off all their craziness. They listened because they crashed and bashed and wrestled all over each other. They didn't stop running and jumping for another 40 minutes and even then they begrudgingly came inside. I think that if I turned the flood lights on outside in the dark the kids would just keep on playing. I don't think at any stage they would stop.

However, after reading thousands of books to the boys and singing all sorts of nursery rhymes to Bailey, they did both finally go to sleep. They were both completely out like a light in record time. Sweet dreams boys. Sweet sleep to myself and my husband.

Just Me

My day pretty much consisted of just me. I worked and worked and worked while my husband looked after the 2 boys. It was a wet, wintry day today. My husband and the 2 boys ventured off to Myer to look at kids books and toys before then having a special lunch treat at McDonald's. Once I finished work, 10 minutes later my 3 men arrived home. We caught up with each briefly before I then went to my wonderful brow lady. I even splurged and had a facial. As I was her last appointment for the day we had a glass of wine together. It was very lovely. We talked business and about the prospect of going out for a girls night sometime soon. I came home to my lovely family. I ducked out again to pick up a DVD that I had booked. Came home, chaos prevailed, Brandon and Bailey tried devouring anything resembling food, Bailey recited every nursery rhyme he knows, Brandon had more growing pains, rubbed his legs tiresly and now they are both fast asleep. I get to hang out with my stranger of a husband and watch a really good DVD. Looking forward to it.

Pyjama Day

I managed to stay in my pyjamas for most of the day today, as did Brandon and Bailey. The 3 of us did quite a lot around the house but we just did it in our pyjamas. Many times throughout the day I attempted to organise clothes but then something else came up- like having to do art and craft straightaway, having to push Bailey on the swings straightaway, and having to prepare food straightaway. The urgency in the activities came from the kids. Throughout most of the day I was trying to do things that have been running through my head now for weeks. My head's now at the stage where it's so full that I have to let something out before I can let anything new in.

Although in our pyjamas, Bailey and I did play outside early this morning. I swung him on the swings for what felt like hours while Brandon watched some TV. I had a 24 page fax to send and I asked the 2 boys several times before I sat down to send it if they needed to go to the toilet. After it was vigorously confirmed that I had a window of opportunity to send my fax, 2 pages in, Bailey decided that he needed to go to the toilet. Luckily for me and luckily for Bailey Brandon helped him. Thanks Brandon.

By 2:45pm we finally got dressed into some presentable clothes. Firstly I thought I better because we had to duck up to the shops and secondly I had to go to work. I was cutting it fine leaving for the shops so late considering I started work at 4 pm. The 2 boys and I did manage to get our few things. Bailey even had time to have a tantrum in the supermarket. Luckily I accounted for that in the time it took us.

I don't know what happened to my brain today but all day I thought I had 1 client and that I'd be finishing work early this afternoon. As it was, when my first client was re booking it was at that time that I realised I had another client about to walk in the door. I must not have got rid of enough things in my head from earlier. Maybe I was just wishing that I was back in bed with my pyjamas back on. Can't wait. Actually I think that it was my mum's words echoing throughout my head about the possibility of me having heart problems. Now I think that I really will put my pyjamas on.

Outside Boys

Our whole day was spent outside. It truly was. At first we took Andrea off to the Strawberry farm. I was hoping that it wouldn't rain and that we would be able to travel up to the farm. Luckily it wasn't so off we went. The 4 of us had a great time. The 2 boys and I love strawberries and love the experience of picking our own fruit. It's so much fun. Highly recommended.

Well for some reason I've just had a panic attack as I sit here on the lounge writing away. Moving on, after we had picked 2 kilograms of strawberries, eaten about 8 chocolate coated strawberries, had 3 lots of strawberry ice cream, and a big play at the strawberry playground, we all came home.

Andrea headed off to her new home at the Gold Coast and then the 2 boys and I headed off outside to play in the backyard. Here we stayed for the next 3 1/2hours. The 2 boys and I played in the dirt for most of that time. I had a fantastic time and it looked like the Brandon and Bailey did as well. At some point we came in because it was starting to get cold as the sun went down, and I had a late client.

My beautiful boys just love being outside. I hope that tomorrow the sun is shinning and that we can go outside and play again. We also have lots of strawberries to eat as well. Delicious.

Andrea!!

This is what the 2 boys have been yelling out for the past few days while our visitor is still here. The 2 boys absolutely love and adore Andrea. They will be so very lost when she leaves to go home tomorrow. Luckily she is moving to the Gold Coast so the 2 boys will be able to see her a lot more frequently than they have previously.

My day began quite early but the 2 boys didn't wake up until 8am. I managed to do quite a lot of other things while the kids slept. It was quite nice. But when the boys woke up it was mass panic because they both did want to go to kindy gym which meant we had to leave at 8:50am to get petrol and then drive to kindy gym. We did get there in time and I was quite impressed that we had managed to get everything ready in such a short time. It was truly amazing.

Kindy gym was great. The kids swung on the rope over and over gain. They both jumped on the trampolines, ran, walked along the beams, swung on the gym rings and slid on the slide. They did lots of great things. My favourite part was jumping on the trampolines with the 2 boys. I jumped with Bailey while Brandon jumped on the trampoline next to us. It was so much easier with someone there to help me. The ratio was tipped back in my favour. One adult to each child as opposed to 1 adult and  2 kids. It was quiet nice.

Once kindy gym finished, we all drove over to a park where we played for awhile and the boys ate morning tea. We ended up walking around the lake that was right next to the park. There were ducks galore and Bailey loved chasing everyone of them. There was exercise fitness machines built in as a circuit that you could do around the lake. Brandon loved them all. He got on to every activity and gave it a go. Well done sweetheart. By now it was 12pm and I thought that we might head home so as to take it easy for the afternoon. The boys were looking tired.

We had a dinner booking at a restaurant for 5pm and by the time that we arrived home from our afternoon activities, I thought it best that the kids had some quiet time. All they wanted to do was attach themselves to Andrea and go where she went, Bailey especially. Finally we rounded everyone up and headed for the restaurant. It was great. The 2 boys were super tired though but everyone still managed to enjoy themselves.

Well playtime has been and gone and now I am very tired. Everyone else is asleep. I know that tomorrow the 2 boys will just say "Andrea. Andrea. Andrea, Andrea!!!!

Letting Go

My lesson in life today was to just let go. I am so very used to doing everything in my life and for the 2 boys that when someone else comes along and offers help it's a strange concept. Today though I let go enough to let someone help me, although she will never probably know just how much I appreciated it. Thanks Andrea.

Our day began by taking Brandon to Kindergarten. It was still raining and raining and looks like it may continue to do so for some time. I'm a bit over it although I know it's great for our garden. Hopefully the sunshine will return again soon and we can continue our adventures outside. After we'd all been to kindergarten, Andrea, myself and Bailey ducked into the supermarket to grab a few things. We just headed home from here as I had no idea of things to do outside on a rainy day. We played and ate lunch. I made several phone calls to people that I had been wanting to call for a very long time. It's amazing what you can achieve when you don't have 2 small children crawling all over you and pressing all the buttons on the phone. Thanks again Andrea for looking after Bailey for me while I made my calls.

I picked up Brandon early today from kindergarten. The teacher didn't look impressed but then she never looks impressed by me. Oh well. It was nice to just spend some time with Brandon. It was less stressful and certainly easier with just 1 child. It was nice to spend some alone time with Brandon. Andrea minded Bailey at home while I went and collected Brandon. Apparently Bailey fell asleep in the swings outside in the brief moment that it stopped raining.

Soon after, Brandon and I arrived home and Bailey woke up. The 2 boys and I and our visitor went outside for awhile again between torrential downpours. Bring back the sun! The 4 of us then made up some chocolate cupcakes  which were delicious. My dad rung this afternoon to let me know how my mum was going. They hadn't heard from the specialist yet at the time that he rung. Hopefully by now they have some answers as mum went into surgery this morning.  Fingers crossed mum that the news is all good.

Our angel Andrea even went into the pool with Bailey in his swimming class which meant that I actually got to watch Brandon swim. It was great. My husband had bought 4 pizzas for us all for dinner so we all sat down and inhaled the food. Brandon practically fell asleep straightaway where as Bailey cried for about 45 minutes. I ended up getting him to sleep by rocking him like a little baby in my arms and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little star. He finally stopped crying and went to sleep, which is all that matters.

Well I'm off to bed now. I feel like I could sleep anywhere. See you in the morning. Best wishes mum and dad. Sleep well. I'm going to let go and drift off to sleep.

Unsettled Children

Seeming as I have been awake since about 2 am this morning this will be extremely short. Bailey and Brandon both had an unsettled sleep last night and seeming as I have the amazing ability to wake up when a child is crying or standing beside my bed, it was me who was up with the 2 boys throughout the night. I just soldered on and did it as I always do. Our visitor is still blessing us with her company at the moment which is lovely. It's raining and raining and I am very keen for it to stop. Sorry all but I just fell asleep with my hand poised over the keyboard. I really have to go to bed. See you tomorrow. Please boys stay asleep for mummy's sake and sanity.

Ben Tennyson The Caterpillar

Well I spoke to my mum this morning and she sounds settled in at hospital, well as settled in as you can be in a hospital. I hope that you're feeling better today mum and that all the tests and drips and medicines are helping you get better. Best Wishes. I hope too dad that you had a safe drive and that you are OK too.

This morning it finally rained and rained. Now it hasn't rained here for many many weeks so it was quite nice to hear, see and smell the rain. Unfortunately, it means that the 8 loads of washing that we seem to do everyday have become backed up and we are frantically trying to dry it all. Laundry aside, this morning the 2 boys and daddy went off to the paint shop while I stayed home and cleaned the house for the impending arrival of our visitor. Andrea, my husband's cousin, was coming up to stay with us for a  few nights. We were all very excited. All 3 men came home and then Andrea arrived. The rest of the day was spent with 2 very excited little boys talking and talking and showing Andrea everything in their little lives. We ducked out to Bunnings so my husband could get some things for work. Brandon found a caterpillar at Bunnings and proceeded to call it Ben Tennyson the caterpillar. He put some fresh leaves in there as well as lots of breathing holes. He even decorated the outside of the cage with stickers and masking tape. It looked great. The boys played in the playground for awhile before we attempted to head home and that's when Bailey chucked a huge tantrum. He had his own little agenda and he didn't want to go home at all. The only thing that settled him down was if I sang Nursery Rhymes.

Up until dinner time, the 2 boys and Andrea did art and craft. There was masking tape and paper and scissors and colour and ideas flying everywhere. It was at this point in time that the 2 boys went absolutely crazy. In fact, psycho might be more an applicable word. It wasn't until they fell asleep instantly once their heads hit the pillow that the noise level dropped to a pleasant quietness. Hopefully, Ben Tennyson the caterpillar will live to see another day. Hopefully too he won't have crawled out of his little enclosure and gone off exploring. I might just go and check on it.

To My Dearest Mum

The funny thing about life is that when you think everything is so incredibly important something happens that really puts it all in perspective and makes you realise how unimportant all the small stuff really is. Today my lovely mum had a heart attack and it makes me so very upset. So instead of being in disbelief that my 2 boys run everywhere, I am grateful that they are running everywhere. I hope mum that you get better and even though you are 3000km's from home you have the best people looking after you. I hope that your hospital flight to Townsville goes smoothly tonight and that you manage to get some sleep. I hope too dad that you are OK. I know that you have a huge drive tomorrow to catch up to mum in Townsville. Our thoughts are with you both. I love you both. Love always your daughter. xoxoxxxoo

Directly Proportional

After taking my husband and I 2 hours to put both Brandon and Bailey to bed tonight it occurred to me, now upon reflection, that it's exactly how long they both slept for today. And while that itself is a mean feat, it also plays havoc later on in the evening when we try and get them to sleep, regardless of what time I wake them up. The time they sleep for during the day, is always directly proportional to how long it then takes them to both go to sleep at night. Case in point- today when they both slept for 2 hours it then took them both 2 hours to go to sleep. It wasn't something that occurred to me today when I realised they were both asleep in the car. I was too excited. I was quietly jumping up and down. Finally I was guaranteed of some silence.

The 2 boys and I had briefly ventured into the shops today to go to the bank and check our PO Box. From the moment we all got out of the car at the car park until the moment we all hopped back in, the 3 of us ran. My running wasn't by choice but rather a need to stay with the boys. They both just ran and ran and ran. Typically as we are running in a line, with me 100% of the time bringing up the rear, people always smile at us. It fascinates me and intrigues me that a mum running after her 2 boys, or 2 boys running away from their mum, is such a pivotal point of entertainment. And the comments are always along the same flavour. Comments I've had from strangers in the past few days about my running children include: "I have runners too" as I dashed past another mum, and another one was "My daughter has days like that too". They are always said with a smile so I find it quite jovial.

One thing that is so absolutely completely not directly proportional is the size of my children to the volume of noise they make. I am sure they break all noise barriers in existence. I can guarantee they break all barriers that exist in my car and at home. As cliched as it is, they do only have one volume level and that's extremely loud. Watch out mum and dad when you come to visit. You may need to bring some ear muffs.

We called in to see daddy and drop off his paperwork that he'd left on the kitchen bench at 5:30am this morning as he went off to work. The 2 boys and I then had some lunch in the car out the front of daddy's work site. The boy's inhaled the food that I had packed for them. That's what happens when you run everywhere boys, you eat fridge loads of food to replenish your energy. Once I got rid of the ringing in my ears (ie the kids were sleeping), at home I kept washing and washing. I worked for several hours this afternoon into the evening while my husband manned the fort. The 2 boys and my husband played outside for quite some time swinging, jumping and running. The 2 boys ate and ate again apparently just as they had finished gobbling up their afternoon tea I'd made up. No wonder we spend several hundred dollars on food a week.

So the evening passed and it's rather late now that the boys are asleep. In fact all 3 of my men are asleep. Just another typical Friday night. I really enjoy it actually. It's quiet and no one wants me to prepare food for them constantly. I'll lap up the silence now because I know that tomorrow will be another wild and chaotic day, but strangely I am looking forward to it.

Things Mummy Said Today That Only Mummy Heard

Today I think that when both boys woke up this morning they had the simultaneous thought of it being the day that they would definitely not listen to their mummy. As a result I laughed, rolled my eyes, was grossed out, went crazy, and probably finally screamed. I think that would be an accurate summary of my roller coaster of emotions for the day. Here is a little list of some of the things I said to the kids of which they never heard and the resultant outcome.

* "Can you both please jump in the car so we can go to the shop before it rains"
The outcome: As we reversed out of the garage in my car we encountered a torrential downpour of rain. I looked at them both, rolled my eyes and said they should have listened to me. On principle I kept driving up to the shop. They'd have to deal with the rain.

* "Please put the chocolate in the trolley Bailey"
The Outcome: Bailey proceeded to have the BIGGEST tantrum that I think he has ever had, and he's had big ones before. This one was humongous. In fact it was so monumental that I marched out of the shop with the boys in tow and with no groceries.

*"Stop. Stop. Stop!! Stop when I say stop!"
The Outcome: Bailey continued to kick Brandon over and over again while the 2 of them wrestled on the lounge.

* "That's great Bailey. What are you drawing?"
The Outcome: Bailey's response "Duck Bum!" The conversation continues where I tell him not to say that word (bum) and to tell him to say the word bottom instead. His response again- "Bum. Bum. Bum Bum. Mummy Bum" over and over again.

*"Please put your pants on Bailey"
The Outcome: No response. Selective deafness. He continues to walk around with a nude bottom.

* "Can you please stay still while you drink your drink."
The Outcome: Predictably- drink is spilt everywhere they walk and then they both walk through the sticky juice over and over again.
* "Boys, just eat your lunch. No hitting, no punching. Just eat!"
The Outcome: Obvious- the hitting and whacking continues. They seem to be going for the most amount of table each.

* "Bailey don't walk through it. You're making it worse."
The Outcome: Apart from the tantrum of earlier, this event was the next big thing for the day. I didn't yell or scream at the kids once I had discovered what they had done because I actually found it quite comical. Of course I didn't let the kids know that. I had ducked up to the boy's bedrooms to quickly clean all the stuff off their floors so that you can actually get into their rooms, Brandon's in particular. Both boys were captivated with a cartoon on TV when the next thing I hear is Brandon saying "Oh no. Quick Bailey we have to hide." Of course I ran down to them straightaway and this is what I found. They had grabbed a cake mix still in its packet, opened it and thrown it everywhere. 1 packet of cake mix ended up travelling about 15 metres long and a good 4 metres wide. It was everywhere. So as the above words came forth from my mouth, Bailey decided to stop walking through it and start running through it. Needless to say the boys vacuumed up their mess and swept it up and then wiped it up more with a damp cloth. As I said to them both amongst all their mess, if they are going to make that sort of mess then they are going to have to clean that sort of mess up.

Well that was our day. Maybe tomorrow everyone will listen. Hee Hee!

Not The Most Comfortable Of Places

It's quite late and my husband and I have just finished putting the 2 boys to bed. They have both gone to sleep so late because they both had a sleep during the day. Brandon had a sleep in the car on the way home from Kindergarten in the afternoon while Bailey had a sleep, eventually, on the way home from kindergarten this morning. I actually fell asleep on Bailey's floor while putting him to bed just then. It shows you how tired I am if I can fall asleep on not the most comfortable of places. I have no grand adventures for the day to report back. The only word that Bailey spoke for several hours this morning was "NO!" and every time he said it, it had the exclamation mark attached to it. His vocabulary finally extended by the afternoon so that both he and Brandon could actually play together happily. I went to work, lost my phone, then found my phone, read and read and read to Bailey while my husband did art and craft with Brandon. Now as soon as I have some dinner, it's time for bed for me because it's not comfortable sleeping sitting up on a dining chair.

Quality Time

I spent lovely quality time with my family at different times today. Lately it feels that we rarely all come together because of my husband's and my work and the crazy times, but tonight we all had dinner together. It was really nice.

This morning while having breakfast, the 2 boys were holding hands. I know that when they are older and see the pictures they'll ask me how they could ever have done that and why I took several photos of the moment. I thought it was a really nice gesture and a lovely representation of spending quality time together. Once we dropped Brandon off at kindergarten, Bailey and I headed over to an enormous toy warehouse. Over the weekend we had received a sale catalogue in the mail from the toy warehouse but both boys on numerous times had cut out every toy that they wanted from the catalogue. The big problem arose when Bailey cut out a train table and on the back was a musical guitar that Brandon wanted to cut out. To stop the arguments I said that I'd call into the toy shop and get another catalogue for each of them. We literally drive past this shop every day after dropping Brandon off at kindergarten so it truly wasn't out of our way. It wasn't as cheap as I was anticipating being that it was a warehouse but we still bought 2 things. Bailey chose a train of course- Freddie, while for Brandon I bought Echo Echo, another alien from Ben 10.

Bailey and I headed home where we stayed for several house playing, washing, eating, playing, running, running and more running. It was the most perfect winter day. In fact it was so very warm that Bailey ran around with just a tee shirt on while the both of us ate ice blocks to cool down. Pretty good for winter. I had a great time with Bailey. We spent so much lovely one on one quality time together. Thanks my little man. I had a really nice time with you. We finished up running so that we could go and collect Brandon. He had had a science day at kindergarten today. It sounded like he'd had lots of fun. When I had dropped him off there this morning all his lovely friends came running over to him. He was so happy. He looked like he spent some nice time with all his friends. The last I saw of him, his friend Max had his arm around him and off they were heading with a trail of little boys behind them. It was so cute.

Once the 2 boys and I arrived home, I sat down and secretly ate ice cream with chocolate sauce while the kids watched Ben 10. It lasted 3 minutes before I heard a "Mummy? Where are you?" Luckily I can eat ice cream in under 3 minutes. I jumped up and started getting ready for swimming lessons and before I knew it we were in the pool. There was only 3 of us in Bailey's class today which was nice. Half way through the lesson Brandon needed to go to the toilet. Off he went into the boys loo and I threw caution to the wind and followed him. We spent quality time together in the loo, and while not the ideal place for a mother son moment, Brandon told me that he loved me and that I was a good mummy. Mind you this was all happening as I'm kneeling down in a toilet cubicle of a men's toilet soaking wet in my swimmers while holding Brandon on the loo so that he doesn't fall in while doing his poo. Fun times. Thanks sweetheart. Finally we left the loo and he rejoined his swimming class and I rejoined Bailey's.

On the way home the 2 boys were silent. I had bought them an ice block each at the pool and the silence was golden. Daddy was still not home by the time we arrived which threw me because the plan was for him to pick up a pizza for the kid's dinner and to be home ready for the onslaught of when we arrived. Daddy arrived home a few minutes later and to my absolute delight he had pizza for everyone. Thanks sweetheart. Again the silence was golden. I rounded up 2 tired boys, bathed them while daddy anti-painted himself, and then off to bed they went. Now I'm about to finalise this and spend some quality time catching up with my husband before he falls asleep on the lounge. See you tomorrow.

Believing In Yourself.

Before I go any further I have to say thank you to my wonderful husband. Today he told me to believe in myself and I'd be fine. He told me to stop complicating things and things would be OK. Well I did believe in myself and my obstacle for the day was conquered. An exhilarating experience. A great lesson in life.

This morning the 2 boys and I ate pancakes outside on the deck. Brandon had a huge sleep in for him. Understandably though because I was up with him throughout the night with his growing pains. I massaged his little aching legs for a very long time, until he went back to sleep. My poor little boys, growing so big so quickly. After breakfast the boys watched some TV and followed me around while I did some cleaning. I'm attempting to really Spring clean our house a bit at a time. Eventually the boys and I went off to Bunnings to get a few things. We had a great time. It was a public holiday today in our local council area due to the Brisbane Show being on. As a result kindergarten was closed for the day. Once we came home from Bunnings the 2 boys went crazy. Actually Bailey in particular went crazy, and that was him for the afternoon. We made up a wooden plane for Brandon and a wooden train for Bailey. Bailey decided that waiting for the glue was too time consuming and not needed so he kicked and kicked the train. Just sums up the afternoon.

To escape Bailey's craziness, I went off to work. By the time I finished at work, he'd settled down a bit. I read and read and read for nearly 1 hour to Bailey. He is really into Nursery rhymes at the moment. He loves it when I sing them all to him. He watches my mouth and then moves his mouth to copy the shape of my mouth. It's fascinating. I hope that our boys always believe in themselves. I always do but I just made it hard for myself today. Thanks again sweetheart for loving me and supporting me.

Growing Up

This morning when Bailey woke up I was convinced he was taller. He should have been because my husband and I spent a lot of time with him during the night rubbing his knees and legs because he had growing pains. Brandon goes through stages where he too has severe growing pains. It must be so very hard for the boys not understanding what's going on.

This morning my lovely husband went off to work. Crazy, considering that it's a Sunday, but essential while painting 2 display homes. Luckily for the 2 boys and I he came home at lunchtime. While he was at work, the 2 boys and I stayed home and occupied ourselves. I had planned to go down to the local markets but it just didn't eventuate. I was determined to do some sort of cleaning to our house and for some unknown reason I decided to clean the whole pantry. I don't know why but the urge just overcame me. I had visions of the end result and just went for it. It looks fantastic. Bailey helped me. He was just wonderful. I can still remember when both boys were so little that I wondered if I would ever be able to clean our house again. It made me realise how much the kids are growing up. They are becoming a little more independent. Once my cleaning frenzy of the pantry had been satisfied I moved onto the fridge. Now it too glistens. A part of me was horrified that I hadn't addressed this cleanliness issue earlier, but the other part was estactic that it was all clean and nothing major had happened while I'd done so. Even now when my  husband opens the fridge door he admires it.

The 2 boys and I did lots and lots of jobs around the house and then finally daddy arrived home. We all played outside for a few hours before then packing up the 2 boys and ourselves and went food shopping. I haven't shopped on a Sunday afternoon for eons and I probably will not do it again. It was so busy. Once home the 2 boys and I did some more chores. We made their beds and they put out their rubbish. We emptied all the recycling and bought in the clean washing. Both Brandon and Bailey were fantastic and as a result I paid them. Shamefully, I only had $2.40 so I divided it in half. I paid them in 20 cent pieces so it looked like they were getting a lot of money.

Both boys were crazy just before bed but once we started reading to them they always calm down. It's amazing to think how little both boys used to be, especially Brandon. He was a tiny tiny baby but now he's a tall, skinny, active, talkative non stop 4 year old. My boys are growing up so much.

And This And This And Just This.

Brandon says this over and over again throughout the whole day. He just keeps going and going. He is relentless in everything that he does. I'm sure that when he is older he'll be a lawyer. He goes and goes until sometimes he just wears you down. It is admirable that he has so much enthusiasm and I love witnessing his excitement. At the moment Brandon likes to start art and craft activities with you just as we are all about to walk out the door for the day's adventures. He also likes to start art and craft activities as you're about to help Bailey go to the toilet, when you're about to serve up breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. But his most favourite time to start art and craft activities is when you are trying to get him into bed. In some part I think he is trying to assert his jurisdiction.
To be fair today I can't really say 'The 2 boys and I' because I worked all day, and I mean all day. So rightly my blog should be called 'The adventures of the 2 boys and their daddy'. As I worked and worked and worked I just watched the whole day slide away. The 2 boys and their daddy apparently had a great day. They didn't leave the house until 12pm to go off on their adventures. It took them 3 hours to get ready to leave the house. Now I thought that was hysterically funny, although the humour appeared to be lost on the others.

Firstly the boys and daddy went to Officeworks to get a new cartridge for the printer. Upon Brandon and Bailey's arrival home they also had lots of little things like rulers and notebooks and clips. All sorts of bits and pieces. After Officeworks, they went and had lunch at McDonald's, or Old McDonald's as Brandon calls it. My husband reported they all ate outside near the playground. Meanwhile back at home I had a perfectly quiet house to work from. It was bliss. Once I finished work it wasn't long before my 3 men returned home. I scooped up the little ones in one giant hug while engulfing my husband as well. The late afternoon was spent with my husband on the phone  while I was outside with the 2 boys. We ran around and made up games. It was great fun.

I cooked up dinner as Brandon started doing his art and craft. It is so absolutely predictable it's almost funny. But he did manage to eat his dinner eventually although his art and craft obsession continued on until 30 seconds before he jumped into bed. Bailey uttered the word food several times in his ploy to get up and out of his bed, but before he knew it he was sleeping soundly. I know that tomorrow as I serve up breakfast to the boys, they will be doing art and craft. They were at 6:30am this morning outside on the deck and I don't imagine tomorrow will be any different.

No Name Title

I am at an absolute loss as to what to call today's entry. Maybe if anyone is reading this then they can make up their own suitable title and substitute my hapless one.

The 2 boys and I headed off to a different Bunnings today as they had art and craft on for kids under 5. There were a lot of other small kids there by the time we arrived. In fact there were 3 groups of childcare kids there so it was busy. The kids painted Egyptian masks. Jenny, the Bunnings art and craft lady, gave each child some beautiful gold leaf. It was very extravagant. My 2 boys didn't hang around for long. They move on pretty quick. So once their masks were painted, they ran to the playground, and therefore so did I.

The kids played and played. The playground was fantastic. The 2 boys loved it. We actually met up with one of my friends completely by chance. Brandon and Bailey played with her little boy, Luke, until my boys started going crazy. I scooped them up and with our Bunnings voucher from returning a light we had, I took the 2 boys to the kids art and craft aisle where we grabbed some modeling clay and some coloured sparkly pipe cleaners. Home we finally came with Bailey asleep. Brandon and I instantly started molding clay even though I had asked Brandon to give me 5 minutes to organiser my self. Not a possibility for someone who has to do everything straight away. Therefore, Brandon and I spent the next 90 minutes playing with clay before then putting Brandon's creations in the sun to dry.

Once Bailey awoke, everyone had lunch and then the clay making continued. Both boys painted and painted all their clay designs. Daddy arrived home from work and I ran off to work. From what I could gather, the 2 boys and daddy stayed outside until 4:30pm before ploughing through the back doors with my husband cooking up dinner for the kids.I am so inscrutably tired that I'm heading off now. I have a huge day of work tomorrow See you nameless day.

Taking Time To Remember

Today was another nice day spent with the kids. I didn't have any clients today so it always makes things a little easier and less stressful. The 2 boys and I spent the morning making up superhero outfits for them both. They had capes and masks and the enthusiasm to match any superhero. They both stuck stickers on their capes. Brandon ran around the house really fast once he was superhero decked out while Bailey jumped on his bike and rode around and around the house at breakneck speed as a superhero with his cape flying out behind him. He didn't want to wear a mask as he insisted on wearing a Thomas party hat left over from a previous party. Either way, I was in fits of laughter.

We did finally head off to the library. It was on Brandon's list of things to do yesterday and as we hadn't done it, it was our first point of call today. But first we had to drop into the Police station so that I could deliver my letter to dispute my fine. The Police man behind the counter didn't look or sound anywhere near as friendly as the gentleman did yesterday when we called in. In fact he was very scary. Stay tuned.

Once at the library the 2 boys and I had a good little time. We did lots of puzzles and the 2 boys played together which was lovely. From here we came home and continued our playing. We all had lunch outside and then the boys kept on playing. Once my husband arrived home I literally ran out the door to go to my massage appointment. I had bought an unbelievable special on a 1 hour hot stone massage from cudo.com. I actually bought another massage deal today from grabone.com for another 1 hour remedial massage for $19.00. It's a ridiculous deal from my perspective as a business owner but as a recipient it rocks. My massage today was good. It was nice to take time just to remember to chill out for upon my arrival home it was chaotic. The 2 boys absolutely flew at me so much so that I fell over. Off to bed the boys went and out I came to cook up a storm. Dinner was delicious and now I'm off to bed. Tomorrow I'll have some photos back. I just need to get some new batteries.

Miracles Do Happen

I have just put one of my little angels to sleep-Bailey- and it was the easiest thing I think I have done in the past 4 1/2 years since I've had the boys. I  read and read and read to Bailey on the lounge in his room and he started getting quieter and quieter. When I kissed him goodnight, put him in his bed, turned his light off and then turned around to plug his heater in, he was snoring. It probably wasn't even 5 seconds. Sleep well little man.

I made thousands of phone calls this morning before the 2 boys and I dropped into the Police station to dispute my fine from Monday. They seemed to be good and in fact stated it was probably a trophy fine. Great. I'm just making someones quota in fines for the day. From here the 2 boys and I drove to the hairdressers for the boys. We didn't have an appointment but I thought we'd see if they could fit the kids in. Luckily for us they did. The boy's were great once I finally convinced them to get up into the seats. Looking even more handsome, the boys and I bought some lunch at the bakery next door. We headed home, sat outside and ate lunch then played and played. I managed to do another 5 loads of washing which means we have another 5 loads of washing to fold. Today I had a memorable little conversation with Brandon that went: "Stop Brandon"-as he continued to hit Bailey on the head with a pair of his Ben 10 socks. "That's 3 times Brandon I've told you to stop. No mummy, it's 4 times actually."

Today I realised that Bailey has toilet trained himself pretty much. Unlike Brandon that seemed to take a long time, Bailey has just nailed it in half a day. It's amazing. Last week when we stayed home for several days was when he mastered it. Well done sweetheart.  Luckily I remembered that my Avon lady was calling around very soon so we all jumped back into the car and went to the bank to get some money out. We also checked the PO Box before heading home. Avon called, we paid and then went back out to playing. My husband finally came home and I ducked out again to the Police station. I have to give them a letter explaining why I dispute the fine. The headquarters were closed so I moved on. Another thing to do tomorrow. I headed into the supermarket, stocked up on some essential food to get us through the week before driving to the petrol station, filling up my car and then picking up a pizza from the pizza shop for the boys.

Finally I made it home, boys were fed, bathed, watered, probably grew another 1metre, and then headed off to bed. Sweet dreams boys. See you both in the morning.

Nothing Out Of The Norm Today

Today we were all back on track with life. There was no police in the day, although there will be tomorrow as I have to finalise my fine. Anyway, back to today. Brandon went off to kindergarten. Once I'd picked him up early from kindergarten yesterday, he was fine. So today he was eager to go back so he didn't miss out on anything. I had my first parent teacher interview this morning regarding Brandon. His teacher said that he was doing really well, although he needs to practice his writing more. Which is fair enough because he really doesn't do a lot. Normally he's too busy climbing, jumping, running, swimming, swinging, reading, talking, eating, and laughing. But I'll add writing to his list of achievements. His teacher also said that he has masses amounts of confidence, has great ideas, always starts the group discussions, and is a very popular kid. Well done sweetheart.

To be honest I don't remember what Bailey and I did, but we did eventually end up home playing with trains. We then went and picked up Brandon. He had had a great day which was great to hear. My husband was working late again tonight. I can't wait until the 2 %^&*54!! display homes that he's painting are finished. Bring on normality again and then I can actually remember what my husband looks like. I took the 2 boys off to their swimming lessons of which they both did really well. Because I am still in the pool with Bailey, I am still blown away by how fantastic he is at swimming. Every time I look over to see Brandon swimming I am amazed too. Well done boys.

Well My husband has just bought it to my attention that it's Census night tonight, so I'm off to become a statistic while watching a renovating show. Have a good night everyone. Hi too to my mum and dad. I can't remember where abouts in Australia you will be travelling to tonight, but wherever you are I hope you're having a great time. Looking forward to seeing you both soonish. Goodnight.

My Brush With The Law

I think that somewhere recently I must have had a black cat walk in front of me, because today I encountered as much bad luck as I could possibly fit into 24 hours. It all started when I thought that Brandon didn't look or sound all that well this morning. I told him that I was going to keep him at home for the day but he chucked a big wobbly and insisted that he go to kindergarten. So he did. We were running very late but I was still driving safely and at the right speed when I went around a corner to head towards kindergarten and was pulled over by an unmarked police car. I knew that I hadn't done anything wrong or dangerous with my driving. The only thing that I had been doing in the car at the traffic lights was making chicken noises, surely not enough to justify getting pulled over for.

Apparently the policemen thought I was driving around in an unregistered car. I had paid my registration on Friday afternoon but they didn't have any record of it and stupidly I hadn't put my receipt in the glove box until I received my rego sticker. So I received a fine for $240.00 which luckily when I provide my receipt to the Police station will be ripped up, allegedly. Here's hoping. I was shaking and shaking and really distressed. I'd never encountered the law before and certainly not anyone that disputed my credentials or story. It was un-nerving. I dropped Brandon off at kindergarten and came home straight away to sort things out. That's when I got the phone call from kindergarten to tell me to come straight over to pick up Brandon because he was sick.

Back in the car Bailey and I got. I should have listened to my instincts and put my foot down. Then I wouldn't have a traffic fine and  my morning would have been considerably better, although I still would have been dealing with a sick little boy. Anyway, the day just seemed to get worse and worse so I'm off to have dinner and then end the day as soon as possible. Tomorrow can only be a better day.

BBQs Galore

Finally we had a day where my husband didn't work. Hooray! He spent the morning organising his business tax as I did the property business tax yesterday and my business tax a few weeks ago. I pretty much made him do it, or politely suggested he do it. So finally I can send everything through to the accountant tomorrow. What a great feeling.

Meanwhile, the 2 boys and I were outside playing in the backyard. It was a really hot day today. Most days I forget that it's still winter. We live in such a perfect place. Brandon, Bailey and myself went up to the supermarket to get a few things for our big family BBQ.  Upon our return, the 2 boys and I set up the BBQ and then pulled daddy out of the study. Luckily for him and for us he'd just finished. So, being the vegan I am, I then proceeded to cook up all the meat for my 3 men. My husband swung Bailey on the swing over and over again while Brandon followed me around everywhere. Beautiful boy.

Our BBQ family lunch was just fantastic. I don't know what happened but it just seemed to be magic. Everything just aligned. Everyone gobbled up their delicious food, and then we finished the meal with a cupcake from the supermarket. The boy's played and rode their bikes around and around the outdoor table while my husband and I finished our lunch. Certainly there's no serenity in our household, but a good time was had by all. For the rest of the afternoon we all stayed outside and kept playing.

The evening was wrapped up pretty quickly because we had 2 very tired little boys on our hands. All they wanted was to be cuddled and held and carried. Luckily their mummy and daddy were there to offer open arms to cuddle and hug them. They loved it as did we. Our BBQ adventure was such a success that my husband and I already have our next family BBQ planned. Can't wait.

Play Day

Besides occasionally eating today, playing with the 2 boys was all that I did. The 3 of us were outside at 7:30am playing, sorry neighbours. We had breakfast outside, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea as well. Brandon even asked if I could bring the pantry outside and all the ingredients. I should have because that was really the only reason I went inside- to make up food. After we had played and played, I made up pancakes for breakfast, of which were consumed outside, covered in chocolate sauce. I actually managed to get the 2 boys dressed and for some time they left their pants on before the pants eventually came off. It must be liberating to run, climb, slide, jump, dig, water and eat with no pants on. I'll take their word for it.

As I played and played and played ALL day, I didn't even get a chance to take many photos. Brandon, Bailey and myself just kept going and going until finally the 2 boys willingly climbed into their beds and went off to snooze land. Sweet dreams my little angels. I had a great day with you both. Finally tomorrow daddy gets to join us. Yippee!!

Renovation Brothers

The 2 boys and I had a very busy day today. The 3 of us pretty much spent the whole day outside. I think the only time that I ventured inside was to stock up on more food for the kids and to grab a glass of water. I had a really great day and I'm pretty sure that the kids did too. I had 2 lessons in life reiterated to me today. The first one being that whatever you put in you get back. I did everything with the kids today. We played and played and talked and talked. Both boys asked lots of questions and I gave lots of answers. We worked together to solve problems if they couldn't do something. We found answers to life and overall had a fantastic time. It's all about what you put in. I was amazed all day today how smart my 2 boys are. They think and work out a solution. They speak beautifully and are just really great kids. Normally the 3 of us aren't so keen to stay at home for most of the day, but this week because we have done so little of it, we loved it. My second lesson in life reiterated to me today was really just a carry on from my first lesson- set the foundation up and you'll have a really good base for the future. That's how I see it with the kids. My husband and I try to support them in being independent, smart thinking little people and as a result they are really good boys. It's amazing to see them learn so vehemently from you. They are truly little sponges.

By 11am I had a thought that maybe the 2 boys and I could drive out to the recycling treasure market just near the rubbish tip. I said to the 2 boys that we could get some timber and paint their names on it and hang it up in their playground. They loved the idea. Off we went with plenty of time to spare once we arrived at the market. Brandon and Bailey have been there before but only briefly a long time ago. They absolutely loved it. We looked at everything in the recycling yard. We found the perfect timber planks for our adventure. In fact we bought 3 planks. Brandon chose an old fold up wine storage shelf and Bailey chose to buy a big car while I got the 3 planks of timber. All up it cost me $8.00. A true bargain.

When we arrived home, I managed to convince the kids that we had to have lunch first and a drink of water before we embark upon our renovating. They were chomping at the bit to begin. They gobbled up a veggie wrap each and off they went. We ate lunch outside so they didn't have far to go to move over to their playground. I grabbed the timber, my power drill, screws and the leveller and away we went. I ended up building a safety guard for one edge of the playground which I then turned into a ladder with the other 2 planks. I was really proud of myself. I love building and renovating and by the absolute delight on the boy's faces I think they felt the same way. I had 2 wonderful helpers. They were passing me screws and watching me intently. Once I'd finished building, the 2 boys climbed up their new ladder over and over again. The first time Bailey climbed up, he jumped up and said "It works!" He was so cute. I'd already climbed up and I thought if it can hold me it would be OK with the boys. Once daddy arrived home, both boys were so excited to show him what we had just built. Daddy loved it. Brandon loved the drill. Bailey loved the silver screws.

I spent the evening at work while my husband kept playing with the boys outside. They had dinner and then were bathed before I finished up at work. My husband had a rest while I read and read and read some more to the boys before then putting them to bed. I wouldn't be surprised if both Brandon and Bailey tonight dream of building. Already they tell me they want to buy houses. I'm all for that! Have fun and love what you're doing.

Pirate Brandon Doctor Bailey

This is my 2 beautiful boys just before bed tonight. I love them so much.
We had a good day today, although Karate this morning wasn't so good. In fact it was so awful for Brandon that we are going to have a break from Karate classes. I have been thinking about it for several weeks now because I've noticed Brandon's enthusiasm has been waning. Today when he was scared of his teacher and hid behind whichever other child was in front of him I thought that's enough. I told the instructor that we'd be having a break but upon reflection we probably won't go back. I asked the 2 boys what they would like to do instead of karate and in unison they both said "Art and Craft". So it looks like we'll be doing art and craft.

After that 40 minutes of not so happy times, the 2 boys and I came home and just spent the day together. I had grand plans to catch up with some friends and then go to the beach with the 2 boys but I thought it would be nice just to hang out with my lovely boys. We played outside for a lot of the day. We did some washing, had lunch outside, organised some property deals and spent some time on the computer. We watered our new little veggie garden and enjoyed seeing it almost growing before our eyes. The beetroot has grown dramatically since we planted them all a few days ago.

I just had 1 client this evening and once I'd finished my husband and I bathed the 2 boys before my husband headed off to get a haircut and then go and do the food shopping. I read and read and read books to the boys after they had finished being pirates and doctors. Apparently my heart is fine as is Brandon's, according to Doctor Bailey. I'm looking forward to hanging out with the kids tomorrow.
