I live with 3 men that are addicted to beetroot. The 2 boys obviously got my husband's DNA when it comes to loving beetroot because I can not stand it. I know how exceptionally great it is for you, but I still can't eat it. To me it's up there with porridge on my just can't eat or enjoy list. Sorry mum and dad. I know how much you have always wanted/ suggested that I eat porridge. It's just not me.
Anyway, we now have 12 beetroot plants growing in our new little veggie garden. Once we had dropped Brandon off at Kindergarten, and had stocked up on some fruit and veggies at the shops, Bailey and I headed home to plant our veggie garden. It wasn't my intent to garden but we just did. It was a glorious day so the perfect day for gardening. Aside from planting phenomenal amounts of beetroot seedlings, we also planted carrots, strawberries, tomatoes, geraniums, beans and lettuces. Apparently, assuming that we don't kill off the plants and Bailey doesn't stampede them all, they should reward us with produce in about 8 weeks. Can't wait.
Bailey and I picked up Brandon from kindergarten. They had a circus day at kindy. Brandon made a megaphone for being the ringmaster and he also made a ticket box and heaps of tickets to be the ticket seller. It sounds like he was a busy boy. We all came home to see daddy arriving home as well which was a very pleasant surprise. I went off to work for several hours while my husband and the 2 boys watched Ben 10 on TV. I finished up in time to dry and dress a wriggly cheeky Bailey. Bed time prevailed and the boys fell asleep almost immediately. Now it's late and I have to organise things for tomorrow. I'm so sure that tomorrow I'll be cutting up beetroot galore. The boys eat it for breakfast and lunch. I'm sure that one day I'll wake up and be greeted by 2 kids that have turned into beetroots.
