K.I.S.S

Today we kept it simple. My husband and I had grand plans to go into the city and walk around some markets before then catching a river ferry across the Brisbane river and go off exploring. While it would have been great, we just thought we'd have some adventures closer to home for the day. So then we decided it would be nice to venture down to the local farmers markets for the morning, but again we didn't get there. The morning just seemed to vanish before us. We all hung out and just kept things nice and simple. We didn't have to go anywhere, no-one was rushing off to work. It was quite nice. As per usual we did do bucket loads of washing. It still astounds me every day. My husband and I planned our lives again. It's always reinvigorating to touch base with him and make some great plans. It was a very successful exercise.

Finally my 3 men and I dropped into the shops to check our lotto ticket. No big news about a win. Unfortunately, and typically, we didn't even win 1 cent.  $20 million would have been exceptionally nice. We moved on. We visited the lolly shop so that Bailey could get another Thomas & Friends Pez dispenser while Brandon bought a Ben 10 lolly bag. He doesn't eat the lolly pop, but just goes straight for the Ben 10 alien toy. Once Bailey had a belly full of sugar and Brandon was quiet about Ben 10 for 1 second, my husband and I rounded the boys up and headed for the chemist. I just bought some roll on kids sun scream. It's getting harder and harder for me to convince them to put sun scream on, so whatever I can do to make the process interesting and easier is always a good thing.

The afternoon again just flew by. My husband folded what appeared to be every single item of clothing that all 4 of us had that had just been washed, while I created more washing by changing every ones sheets. Such a good team effort. I cooked the 2 boys a lovely dinner which Brandon willingly threw his down into his stomach. Bailey, on the other hand, is utterly impossible to feed. More food ends up on me or on the floor than actually in, or anywhere near, his mouth. It truly astounds me. Brandon said this evening just after dinner "Everyone loves me because I make good decisions". How cool is that! He is such a smart cookie. Two days ago when the 2 boys and I were in my car travelling, I started singing Incy Wincy Spider, as you do when the car radio doesn't work. Before I'd finished the first sentence, Brandon told me to stop singing. Thinking it may have been my actual singing disturbing him, I was very surprised when he asked if I could sing it in Italian. Well no I couldn't so I asked him to and he did. It blew me away.

Keeping with the theme of the day, I found it surprisingly easy to put Brandon to bed tonight. Apart from reading nearly every book we physically own to both the boys, Brandon jumped into bed and said goodnight mum. He told me that when I needed to go and have dinner I could leave his room and go and eat. He then proceeded to tell me to go and have some dinner. I asked him if I could sit in his room for 2 minutes just while he settled down. He counted to 2 and then told me to go. I was out. As a result I have just cooked up a beautiful dinner for myself and my husband. I realised today that if I just keep things a little less complicated in my brain and in my life, everything does work out. My husband and I are going to attempt to simplify things, and fingers crossed- keep it simple!
