Bananas In Pyjamas
The 4 of us successfully stayed in our pyjamas all day today. While not a deliberate aim, it just so happened that that's how the day turned out. Obviously no-one ventured out beyond our suburban abode, with the backyard being the furtherest we travelled. I did manage to shower and everyone brushed their teeth so we weren't completely feral. We all just pottered around at home. The weather was overcast with it occasionally raining lightly. My husband and I spent a big part of the middle of the day talking about our plans for our future and reflecting upon what we have done in our lives together. We were trying to establish why exactly at times we feel so unsettled in life. Our point of reflection was that even though we have been parents for just over 4 years, we still can't get used to the fact that we are parents. Sounds crazy, but life with kids, which I know everyone knows, is so very different to life pre-children. Obviously we are just incredibly slow in adjusting to change.
My 2 little bananas in pyjamas followed me around everywhere today. Where I went they went and they followed me around ALL day. At some point I questioned them as to whether they thought I was that exciting that they had to be everywhere with me. They responded by smiling at me and yelling a positive response. So I just continued on. We did lots of little chores like changing lights, cleaning up toys, making beds, cleaning toilets, washing, and general Sunday activities. We had grand plans to go into the city this morning, but both boys were cranky, especially Brandon, early this morning, so we chose not to go. It was a re-charge day.
Brandon started his entrepreneurial business this morning called "Brandon's Drink Deliveries". He made it a booming business and in fact made quite a bit of money from his business venture. He made up a sign and had a drink tray. He asked his customers what they would like and then delivered the product with utmost professionalism and positivity. I loved it. My husband and I spent the morning drinking a lot of juice and water and spending a lot of money. All for a good cause.
As my 2 little boys were so attached to me today, I ended up putting them both to bed. Luckily Bailey fell asleep within about 10 seconds so that I went back into Brandon's room to stroke his head. He was asleep within about 20 seconds. I suppose the benefit of everyone spending the day in their pyjamas means that I now have an extra days clothes for the 2 boys available. Thanks beautiful boys for being fantastic kids. While you are so noisy and life's all so chaotic with you both, I love you both so very much.
