Lunatic Children

Today my 2 boys learnt about the word lunatic. There was simply no other suitable word for some of the things that the boys did and said today. I found myself saying it several times. Brandon, the human sponge, said that whoever calls him a lunatic is a lunatic. That makes me the lunatic queen!

My intent today was to have a quiet day and I think that we did manage to achieve that. Quiet for us that is. We still went off to Brandon's karate lesson this morning which he hadn't been to for a little while. I think the break had done him the world of good. He had renewed enthusiasm. He is absolutely exceptional at it. Good on you sweetheart. You made me proud again today. Meanwhile, lovely Bailey run a muck. He is 100% in the terrible 2 stage. Describing it as the "Terrible twos" is, I think, down playing it. It should really be called the "I'm 2 and I rule the world. No is the only word I choose to say and no I did not cause all that destruction, mess, grief and hysteria that you are looking at and experiencing. Let me have another tantrum right now!"

The 2 boys and I came home where I changed Brandon from karate clothes into civilian clothes and then we drove off to the shops. I didn't even get Bailey out of the car because I knew some how it would instigate a tantrum. As a result I got Brandon dressed in the garage. Sorry sweetheart. You did have some privacy in our lovely suburban garage. As we left home to go to the shops I told the boys I had 1 thing to do and that was to get some more fruit for our freshly squeezed juices we have everyday. By the time I arrived at the car park of the shops 5 minutes later there was another 2 things on our list. The first thing was to go to the lolly shop and second was to visit the Post Office Box. Obviously we went to the lolly shop first and the 2 boys chose 1 lolly toy each. With that done, I then mustered them really fast through the next 2 chores because I know exactly how long it takes before the sugar hits their heads and they turn into 2 crazy children.

Getting into the car to go home warranted another tantrum from Bailey as did getting out at home. I am hoping that he will just wake up one morning and realise it's not pleasant having tantrums and stop. I can only hope. The rest of the afternoon was spent with the 2 boys and I outside jumping on the trampoline and also having sword fights on the grass. I had bought the boys some great swords from the Medieval festival we had been to yesterday. Brandon absolutely loved it. He wanted me to keep pretending we were Knights of the round table and keep fighting with our swords. Bailey was having a tantrum and sulking so he was hiding in the palms. I managed to scoop him up and jump with him on the trampoline which made him the happiest he had been all day.

My husband raced in the door and I raced out as I had an appointment with my eyebrow queen. She is pregnant which is so incredibly exciting. Upon my return, both Brandon and Bailey threw themselves at me. Bailey had a tantrum because I was also hugging Brandon. The joys. At least I had some serenity for 90 minutes. As I put Brandon to bed tonight he was being super crazy, I said to him "Goodnight lunatic. I love you". His response  "Goodnight Blutack". Goodnight crazy gorgeous children. See you in the morning.
