We were all so super hot today. The humidity is incredible and even at the moment at 8:30pm it's hot, hot, hot!. So what did the 2 boys and I do today on this very hot Thursday? We went to Karate that's run in an industrial shed. It was hot! Brandon went well but I could see his batteries just about to stop, and then he did. His instructor said to him "Brandon, Run!". He walked in slow motion and continued to do so even when his instructor told him to run again. Brandon has never not run when asked to. Then he did some ducking and jumping with me and that cheered him up. While Brandon was kicking the punching bag, Bailey and I were over to the side with Bailey kicking a balloon and then karate punching it. He too is very co-ordinated and good at it. By now the 3 of us were sweltering so we headed home and put on the air conditioner. We quickly rehydrated and changed Brandon out of his Karate clothes into his day clothes and then we were off again.
This time we were heading to the kids' hairdressers. Luckily it was nice and cool and the hairdressers were nice and quick. The boys didn't utter a word and in fact I struggled to get them out of there. It's the DVDs they have playing at ever hairdressing station. Brandon was fascinated by the movie Tinkerbell while Bailey was mesmerised by Toy Story 3. The boys have already filled their loyalty card up. We then walked to the bakery and bought sausage rolls for the boys, cupcakes for all and some drinks. Once home we ran inside to cool down. Nanny and Poppy C had sent a birthday parcel for Bailey as it's his 2nd birthday tomorrow. Upon the parcels discovery the 2 boys and I proceeded to sit in the front entry while Bailey unwrapped his presents. Just what he wanted too - Thomas trains and a book about Thomas trains. He was wrapped. So much so that he has taken the Thomas book to bed with him.
Once we had gobbled up some food and had a chance to feel cool again, the boys and I went out to the local shopping centre to the toy department at Myer. We were going to buy some more trains for Bailey and a Thomas carry case for all Bailey's trains. Bailey found some things that he liked and I found a carry case but thought it was ridiculously expensive for what it was and what you got. Sorry Bailey. I'll make you one myself. We managed to buy a few things before then heading back out to the car to dump everything in the boot of the car. By now Bailey was starting to get delirious and we had planned to go back into the shops and check our post office box. I pulled the pin on that idea because Bailey was exhausted and was screaming so we went back home and sat in the air conditioned house. The only thing that got the boys outside for a little while this afternoon was the fact we bought some bubble blower mix so the boys could blow bubbles. We didn't last long outside because both boys insisted on holding onto their bubble mix and as a result it went all over the ground. So that was that. The afternoon was spent reading books and playing with trains. When daddy walked in the door I pretty much walked out. I actually had some me time. I have the best lady who does my eyebrows and does great facials. She is a really great client of mine as well. So I had a lovely time.
I hit the ground running though once I got home. I live in a crazy, loud, chaotic world with boys so it was nice to be quiet and girly for awhile. I look forward to my next appointment. The boys did their customary nudie runs that seems to be going for longer and longer in the evenings. It must just be because I am getting tireder and tireder. So both boys are finally asleep. It's going to be a very hot night here tonight so I'm off for some dinner and to make sure all the ceiling fans are on.
