Which Beach?

We went up to the beach today to celebrate Bailey's birthday from yesterday.. Now he is 2 years and 1 day old. It was an extremely hot day so the beach was the perfect place to be. We headed off reasonably early and actually spent the next 40 minutes returning the train cake tins from yesterday plus we were trying to find somewhere where we could get some swimming nappies for Bailey. We went from shop to shop before we eventually found some. Now we were heading off to the beach.

We planned to go to Caloundra for the day but as we drove in with a huge mass of traffic we saw an enormous sign saying alternative parking for the triathlon race. So we continued on to another beach because we have been at Caloundra before by accident when the race has been on and we weren't doing that again. We travelled onto Alexandria Headland.  We unloaded ourselves and the 2 boys and all our beach essentials and went down to the beach. Being a patrolled beach there was a big sign on the beach from the lifesavers saying swim at your own risk because of Bluebottles. We had a look at the shoreline and there was Bluebottles everywhere so we traipsed back to the car and evaluated which beach we could go to now. We drove up to Coolum. It was a lot further than we were hoping to travel to but at least there was no triathlon nor any Bluebottles. By now we were all very hungry so we went and had a delicious meal. Daddy and I somehow managed to eat our food because Bailey just wouldn't stay still. Moving on then to the beach. We had a great time and that's where we stayed for hours. The 2 boys loved the water. They laughed and laughed and laughed. Bailey just ran and ran and ran. Daddy and I were just exhausted. Eventually we packed up and left the beach. Unfortunately the 4 of us were absolutely covered in sand so daddy took Brandon and I took Bailey and we managed to wash at least half the beach off us.

Both boys had fallen asleep in the car on the way home from the coast. When we got home we just couldn't wake little Bailey up. Eventually he awoke so then daddy and the 2 boys went and bought some chicken and chips from the local takeaway before returning home. We all ate outside and between mouthfuls the boys jumped on the trampoline. It went on and on. Now the 2 little men are sleeping peacefully. We all had a great day especially once we found a beach that we could enjoy.
