Just a little kiss and I'll be on my way. Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye baby tonight. I just sang that song once to Brandon while putting him to sleep. Then I heard a little voice say "Mummy, can you sing that song again to me?" So I did and he was asleep within 2 minutes. Then Bailey wanted me to put him to sleep as well so I went in and rubbed his back. Eventually I had to sit down and then that's when his little hand pops out through the cot and he wants me to hold his hand as he goes to sleep. I love it. It melts my heart. I sang the same song to Bailey as I just had to Brandon and he was asleep within minutes as well. It works a charm every time.
This morning the 2 boys and I were a bit late for Kindergarten. I don't have any idea of the time anymore because 2 little boys at different times have experimented as to how far my lovely watch will fly and therefore fall, and I just couldn't find my mobile phone with the time on it. I usually know what time it is in the morning according to what kids shows are on, but the TV station has gone and changed all their programming. Plus there was a car accident on the highway so we got very stuck in a traffic jam. So we just went with it.
Brandon wasn't so overly keen for us to leave him at Kindergarten this morning. While he wasn't in tears, he just kept returning to me to tell me that he really liked me and Bailey and daddy. Both boys were a little attached to me today. While not clinging off me, they just wanted to be in the vicinity of me. It wasn't overly noticeable until daddy and I tried to bath them, dress them, feed them again, and then put them into bed. Both boys wanted me to do it all tonight.
While Brandon was at Kindergarten, however, Bailey and I went to the Cheesecake shop to organise a birthday cake for Brandon to take to Kindergarten tomorrow. While his birthday is not until Wednesday, tomorrow is his last day at Kindergarten for nearly a month due to holidays, so I thought it would be nice for him to celebrate with his new friends. I've ordered the coolest cake for him. Stay tuned. Once done, Bailey and I headed up to the shops to buy a few birthday presents for Brandon. We initially went to Big W even though Brandon had picked out some presents from Kmart. I just presumed that the big shops would all have the same things, but alas no they didn't. So I bought a Thomas and friends DVD for Bailey and then we jumped back into the car and drove out to Kmart. Now we were having some more luck. I scooped up everything that Brandon had got really excited about from the other day when we were here- Ben10 and Transformers. Finally I managed to manoeuvre Bailey out of the shops back into the car.
While Bailey slept upon our return home, I did a few small things before 40 minutes had disappeared and it was time for me to wake Bailey up and go and collect Brandon. Brandon was so very excited to see Bailey and myself. So heartwarming and good for the soul to have kids throw their arms completely around you. You just want to inhale the moment. I was treating the boys to ice cream this afternoon. Being a kids club member, Brandon had received a birthday card from the shops as well as a voucher for a free ice cream of which we were redeeming now. The ice cream wasn't such a great hit so then the 2 boys wanted some McDonald's. Actually more to the point, they wanted the toys in the McDonald's food. Being alert to this, I still ordered 2 Happy meals for them. The 2 boys have only had McDonald's food 2 times previously and they have never actually eaten the food because they aren't used to eating brown soggy food. Anyway, I got it for them today. Bailey wouldn't touch his while Brandon ate some of his chips. Next time they became overwhelmed with the desire for McDonald's, I'll enforce the "No!!".
By now it was quite late so we all headed home to discover that daddy still wasn't home. He did another 10 hour day. Bring on the weekend and retirement! I cooked the kids some yummy dinner and then daddy arrived home. That's when the kids all went to crazy land. They stayed at crazy land until I got them both to sleep eventually. Now I'm just about to head off to sleep too because I keep falling asleep here at the computer. See you in the morning at the break of day.......
