Ice Cream Delight

Our day today focused around ice cream. As the 4 of us were having breakfast together this morning, we got talking about cubby houses and as a result I looked in the weekend paper classifieds to see if there was any for sale and to check how much they were. For some reason I thought I'd also look to see if there was any ice cream makers for sale. There was. Hooray! I had mentioned to the boys last week that I'd like to get one for us. This one today was available from the suburb next to us. So the 2 boys and I jumped in the car and went to pick up the ice cream maker. It was brand new and only cost $10.00. I didn't bother negotiating on the price.

Once the 2 boys and I came home I attempted to read the ice cream maker instructions, but between Brandon and Bailey climbing all over me, the kitchen bench, and the ice cream maker it was impossible. Brandon also added his noise at full volume. We all went food shopping as I told the 2 boys I couldn't concentrate on making ice cream right at the moment. Shopping with the boys is always challenging. It's somewhat easier when both myself and my husband are shopping together. We all survived the experience but the 2 boys weren't interested in having a rest afterwards. There were too many exciting things to do at home.

After unpacking thousands of bags of food, the 2 boys and I made popcorn. They loved it. They were both in hysterics. They thought it was the best thing ever. Such cheap entertainment. While the kids were eating popcorn I made delicious sandwiches up for everyone for lunch and then we all sat outside and ate. It was a lovely day. The afternoon was spent washing, folding washing, making beds, tiding up toys, entertaining boys, picking up more toys, reading books, attempting to get ready for the week, and then we made ice cream. The 2 boys and I made up the mixture for chocolate ice cream. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to be able to use the ice cream machine. A part of it needs to be in the freezer for at least 10 hours. I can guarantee we will be making ice cream tomorrow morning for breakfast. I can't wait.
