Observations Of The Day
* When sick kids start getting better they ask for the strangest things to eat. We had a picnic this morning for breakfast again where the boys ate normal breakfast food. Then Brandon wanted a bowl of cold meat, then a bowl of grated cheese, then a bowl of pear, all washed down at the end with a cupful of lemonade.
* When a 2 year old bites his lip, he automatically believes that he must put a band aid on it. Bailey helped himself to the band aids on the belief that it would make his lip better. I insisted that it wasn't such a good idea. It's one place where a band aid doesn't go as it hurts. It hurt. It hurt even more when Brandon realised what Bailey had done and then proceeded to chase Bailey around the house until he had ripped the band aid off. So yes it did hurt.
* When the 2 boys and I visited the garden shop today, Bailey ran away. To be expected really because that is all that Bailey does at the moment. If you choose a spot or a place that you need to be, Bailey will run as far away as physically possible.
* When a 2 year old disappears from your view, plus you can't hear him for a split second, mummies really panic.
* When the garden shop lady says that I have fantastic kids and that they are a real credit, I smile wryly and think do you not realise I just lost one of them, and did you not hear me for the past 2 hours saying "Bailey. BAILEY. BAAIILLEEEEEY!!!" ??? But thank you.
* Superglue doesn't come off fingers easily when you're sticking toy planes back together in a hurry. Silly mummy.
* Pyjamas are most happily worn when outside on the wet morning grass while mummy is hanging up truckloads of washing, including the pyjamas from yesterday that encountered the lovely wet grass..
* Washing never ends.
*Toys appear in all sorts of strange and interesting places. This morning I found a toy duck in my makeup and a train in the pantry. A tell tale sign that Bailey has been there. He has an organised exchange policy going. He leaves a toy for you and runs off with something twice as interesting that usually makes 10 times more mess. The trick is either to deflect the exchange from occurring or be hot on the heels of Bailey as he's made his drop.
* Bailey can drink lemonade out of a Lego man's miniature backpack.
* The sun shone warmly all day and now the stars shine brightly above us. It's getting late and the 2 boys are asleep. Sleep well everyone.
