Can You Please Sit Still?
There are several ways to ask the 2 boys to sit still. Very few of them seem to work, unless I just haven't mastered the art yet. My first way of asking the boys to sit still sounds like this - "Can you please sit still?" Nothing, not even a blink of an eyelash. My next attempt sounds like this - "Can you please sit still? The 2 boys run away faster and wrestle. My third attempt goes- "Can you pleeeeeese sit still!" By this stage it has no longer become a question and now more of a statement. "Can YOU PLEASE sit still!" No more mucking around so I just yell "SIT DOWN NOW!!!!!!" That works.
The 2 boys and I dropped Brandon off at kindergarten for the last time this week. Hooray! I miss him during the week. I tried to make a relatively quick exit from kindergarten today with Bailey so there would be less chance of a recurrence of yesterday's tears. Although it's very hard to exit quickly from anywhere with Bailey, we did eventually depart. The 2 of us went to the local library for many many hours. We had a great time. We played and played and played. Bailey learnt so much. It is so easy to teach kids lovely things. I'm very proud of you Bailey. You are a great little boy with such lovely manners. We headed home and Bailey had a little sleep. Before we knew it we were back in the car picking up Brandon. I truly feel like I should just eat and sleep in my car. Sometimes I really don't know why I get out of my car. Actually if it had a toilet and my husband in there I probably wouldn't really need to. Crass humour.
I had a very late client this evening so I had a chance to cook some dinner for the 2 boys. I truly don't know why I did. They just aren't interested in food at all. It's such an incredibly struggle to get them to eat any food at the moment. Day after day the food struggle continues. It was my turn to put Bailey to bed tonight and what did I say to him as he rolled and rolled and rolled around in his bed and jumped up and down? "Can you please sit down!" Funny kids. I can't wait to spend the day with them both tomorrow. I just wish that daddy could join us on our adventures. xox
