1 Step Closer To Retirement

Congratulations to my husband and I because this afternoon we bought another house. That takes us 1 huge step closer to retirement which is extremely exciting. We managed to buy a house with an enormous block of land that we can build another house on and subdivide. The big bonus is that it has rear street access. We finally found one. Rear street access is a gold mine. So congratulations to us. It gives us probably the weekend to pause and take a breath before we then get into the glorious tasks of organising building and pest inspections, dealing with the bank, signing truckloads of paper, organising builders, choosing colour selection, dealing with council, dealing with real estate agents, renovating and the list goes on and on. If we didn't love it though we wouldn't do it.

I wish that I had an alcoholic beverage in the fridge to celebrate. Instead I have orange juice and cheese. Our cupboards are rather bare of food at the moment. I was hoping to do the food shopping after work this evening, but I just ran out of time. If the supermarket nearby was open at midnight I might be able to do the shopping then.

This morning, between phone calls, we managed to get ready before heading out to Kmart to buy daddy some Father's Day presents. It was crazy with the 2 kids. They couldn't quite comprehend that we were buying presents for somebody else but them. I'm still not sure that I convinced them. Actually before we went to Kmart we called into the hairdressers for Brandon to get a hair cut. As he'd refused to get a hair cut the other night when Bailey had had one, we had to go in today. That done, we then went to Kmart.

We managed to get some little presents and we walked out with no toys or chocolate. A success! From here we called in to see daddy as he was working only minutes away. By this stage the kids had gone crazy as I'd bought them a donut each at the shops and the sugar had definitely hit their heads. It was pure madness and I was stuck with them in the car. Obviously they hadn't come down from their sugar rush by the time we got home because the 2 boys went nuts. I had a meltdown before they did because it was absolutely crazy times. I'll NEVER feed them a donut again, EVER.

The afternoon passed, thank goodness, and my husband arrived home. The kids continued their absolute craziness towards daddy now. I sat quietly for about 3 minutes before I was off chasing Bailey on his bike. Brandon and Bailey wrestled and played with daddy for a little while while I snapped some pictures. They were so exhausted that by the time I went to work at 5:30pm Bailey was dead to the world on the lounge. We all tried to wake him up but he was out. He's sleeping soundly in his bed now after I managed to slip some pyjamas on him. Once I waved goodbye to work for the night, I jumped in the end of Brandon's bed and rubbed his sore tired legs as he lay there ready to go to sleep. I hope that both boys stay asleep throughout the night and they sleep really well.

Somehow tonight I plan on celebrating our achievement for the day. I might have to jazz up my orange juice and find some biscuits and dip with my cheese. Well done to us. xxooxx
