I ate a lot of strawberry muffins today. They were homemade and were utterly delicious. In fact the 2 boys and I were so very impressed with our first batch of muffins this morning that we spent the late afternoon making up some more. We did a lot in between our muffin making sessions that was heaps of fun as well.
Bailey and I were outside early this morning watering the veggie garden when we heard what sounded like my mum and dad arriving. To my amazement it was. I briefly ducked up to the supermarket to get some essential food so that we could make some strawberry and chocolate muffins for morning tea before mum and dad departed. We all enjoyed eating our muffins and I went back for a second helping. Once mum and dad left to continue their very long journey home, the 2 boys and I walked in the front door, straight through the house and right out the back door to play. We stayed and played for many hours outside. It was really nice. I had set up the blue tarp and the kids ran up and down on it through the water. By insistence of a 4 1/2 year old, I managed to get very wet. Luckily it was quite a warm day and we all dried quite quickly. Bailey played in all the glorious mud that he had just made while Brandon ran around nude.
By 4pm I brought the boys back inside where we began our second session of muffins making. The boys just looked so happy while they were cooking. I went off to work while my husband looked after our 2 little chefs. The kids were so incredibly tired, just like their parents, but everyone ate, at varying times throughout the evening, many a strawberry muffin. In fact they make for a delicious dinner.
