Keep Trucking

What a great day we had. The 2 boys and I spent the whole day and night together as daddy went to the horse racers with it being Melbourne Cup Day today. We started the day by dropping daddy and a friend off at the local train station and then the 2 boys and I drove to the fruit and veggie markets to stock up. We always have a great time there. Brandon is always very curious about all the different types of food available. It's always a 101 questions when we're there. Heaps of fun.

We travelled on to the shops and did a few menial tasks like checking the PO Box, buying batteries and paying money off the 8 laybys I have. The boys go crazy in the shops so i always try and get out of there as quick as possible. Their personalities change instantly as we walk into the shops and change back just as quickly once we leave.

We had the option to meet up with some friends for a play but I made the decision to go home for awhile as both boys were really tired. Of course Brandon didn't sleep but at least Bailey did for a very short while. Brandon and I made up very yummy lunches and then went and ate outside. Brandon has 4 things that he wants for Christmas, none of which I have because I didn't think he was serious about them. He wants a Pogo stick, a yo yo, a soap making kit and some stickers. So we drew those 4 things today as a sort of letter to Santa. We are always doing kit things from art and craft at Bunnings. Previously we have made fridge magnets from plaster paris, painted and designed mugs, and painted veggie garden labels. Now I think Santa and I will have to source his requests.

Once Bailey awoke and ate lunch, the 2 boys and I walked about 40 metres to a little park at the end of our street. It's a simple park in that it just has a motorbike and a truck to climb all over and drive. But it does also have a heap of footpaths that are all entwined together and make great running tracks for kids and their mummies. The boys climbed all over this truck and pretended to drive it for almost 2 hours. Luckily I took a heap of food. The boys would run, drive the truck, run, drink water, eat food and then do it all over again. We all just ran and ran and ran.

Eventually we headed home after Brandon insisted that we should stay at the park all day and all night. Once home we drank so much water, ate ice blocks and sat under the fans. It was nearly dinner time and I thought that I would treat the boys and I to pizza and ice cream. We ordered pizza and then jumped in the car to buy very yummy ice cream and then pick up our pizzas. We just bought the food home to eat it. It was the first time in the whole day that there was complete silence. It was fantastic. The ice cream was a huge hit. Sure it ended up on the floor about 5 metres from where Bailey was sitting, but they were having fun.

I finally got them bathed and stories read and then successfully in to bed. They still went to bed about 1 hour later than I was hoping, but then they just keep on going and going and going.
