Play Ball

I left the decision up to the boys today as to what they would like to do. We did have Brandon's sport coaching class this morning but after that the choice was theirs.

Daddy was strangely home sick today. Out and about yesterday he had collapsed with the ambulance officers saying that he had very low blood sugar levels. They had given him a sugar boost and then apparently he had come good. Today he is just truly exhausted. So as much as the 2 boys and I wanted to stay and hang out with daddy, we departed in a whirl of activity to let daddy get some peace.

Off to Brandon's sport coaching we went. Yes we drove even though the class is at the community centre at the end of our street. I knew that the 2 boys would want to go somewhere after so hence the car. Today the class played cricket. It's funny to watch kids learning to run between the wickets. Bailey is no longer interested in staying in the stroller no matter how much I might bribe him with food. He just wants to play. He ended up joining in at the end. Together the 2 boys walked a beam, jumped in hoops, ran around throwing little bean bags at the instructor, and then ran around while the instructor threw bean bags at them. All in a days play.

Sitting in the car after sport I posed the question "What would you both like to do now?" Brandon instantly said "Go to the library". So off we went to the local library. The boys played with the library toys and all the other little kids there. Then eventually Bailey started getting interested in the scenery about 100 metres away at the other end of the library. So off we all run so as to all stick together. The boys were great. We found all the kids DVDs and all 3 of us sat down and the boys chose some to borrow. Brandon had 5 and Bailey had 2. After vehemently being reassured by the 2 boys that if we take the DVDs home they will be returned in the same condition that they are currently in, we went off to borrow them. I am a little sceptical but very hopeful.

We sat outside under the shade of a nice big tree and ate some morning tea. Mummy catering had made some delicious sandwiches and fruit salad. I had also bought along last nights left over pizza and some biscuits and lollies. A delicious feast. Home we went with nice full tummies. Just setting the scene up for the possibility of 2 boys sleeping at the same time. It worked.

Came home and put both boys in bed. I tore around doing all sorts of things which at the time seemed very important but for the life of me now I can't remember what they were. Daddy didn't convince me enough that he was well enough so I made a doctor's appointment for him.

The afternoon was spent outside (the boy's second home). As I went off to work daddy and the 2 boys were still outside playing with balls, running and swinging. Brandon and Bailey, with much excitement, showed daddy our veggie garden that is growing beautifully. We have lots and lots of flowers on all the veggies, so we are eagerly looking forward to eventually picking our produce.

Neither of the boys had any particular desire to go to bed tonight so it wasn't until 9pm that daddy and I could hear 2 lots of snoring. Hurray!
