Runaway Sausage

We all slept in a bit this morning, although still up ridiculously early. We started the day with pancakes. Perfect food for mummy.  Swimming was on the agenda today and it was a perfect day for it too. Cloudy but very hot and humid. It was safety week at the pool today so the boys lessons were a little bit different. Brandon was in a boat learning about life jackets and safety, while daddy was swimming with Bailey to see if he had the strengh and stamina to hold himself and Bailey up out of the water. I remember doing that lesson with Brandon and I will never forget that feeling of not being strong enough if I was to have to do it over a vast distance. But then I would do anything for my family.

Once everyone was finally out of the pool and dressed we all ventured out to the chairs and tables near the big pool to have some morning tea. Or as Brandon likes to call it lolly time. Who doesn't deserve a lolly when you have been to the pool. Brandon and Bailey climbed the stairs over and over again at the pool exit. Brandon has always been obsessed with stairs. Up and down and up and down again. From the pool we all went home to have more food.

Bailey had a sleep which was fantastic. He always has a sleep for such a long time after swimming. Brandon and I made up some lunch while daddy showered and regrouped from swimming. We washed clothes and towels and more clothes and the washing just kept coming. At some point it must stop. I am yet to discover that point, but I'll let you know.

We got a phone call from an elderly couple this afternoon who were interested in buying our beautiful pool table. Daddy and I had to face facts. No longer do we have the time and energy to play pool. So we let it go. The man who purchased our table bought some helpers along with him as it's a slate table so is extremely heavy. Once we opened the door to greet them we just knew that daddy would be doing most of the work. And he did.

We farewelled our last grip on pre-children life by re-arranging what was our pool room. It's so very spacious. And that's pretty much where we spent our afternoon. Daddy and Brandon did venture out at some point to get some take away lunch. Bailey must have smelt the food as he woke up pretty soon after the food and the boys arrived home. I am sure that he grows taller every time he has a big sleep. Today I think he grew another inch. Brandon tried to roll Bailey up in the rug on the floor while telling him he was a little sausage and that he would cook him in a fry pan.

We did domestic chores and bought in all that washing. Daddy folded it and I organised boys rooms and got pyjamas ready. This is a photo of a wall in Brandon's bedroom. I think it's the art and sticker wall. He is so very proud of it. Brandon spent the day crashing and banging into everything near and far from him. You name it, Brandon crashed into it. He is covered in bruises and scratches and bumps. At dinner sitting there eating, he fell off his chair. His chair went one way, his plate of sausages rolled another way and Brandon went up in the air and then flat on his back. I just knew it was bad when he did that sucking up of air and forgetting to breath out before he did the biggest scream of pain ever. The only way I could stop him from crying was to get him to look at his sausages running away all over the floor, with the sauce and the pasta. I had him in hysterical fits of laughter.

Eventually we rounded up he 2 boys to brush their teeth, wash them, read to them and then feed them again, brush their teeth again, drink litres of water and then go to sleep. We did it. Hooray!

Thank goodness for runaway sausages. Let's hope that Brandon is not so accident prone tomorrow.
