Not In Your Nose Bailey

It's uncanny how many times I tell Bailey not to put things up his nose. I'm sure it will be any day now that I write in here that we visited the hospital because of something up Bailey's nose. I don't give the little man sultanas anymore because I thought that was the culprit but after today I know it's anything. Bailey tried to put biscuits and lollies and sandwiches up his nose today. He always does it when I'm driving on the highway or on a very busy road where there is no-where for me to pull over. I truly don't think he appreciates the urgency in my voice when I tell him to blow it out. I should just make a tape recording of it.

Anyway this morning we didn't get out of the house until about 10am which is quite late for us. Bailey slept in until 7:30am. I was even starting to get worried because he never does that. When I heard him awake this morning and went in to see him, the first thing I saw was Bailey with no pants on and no nappy. You can just imagine what else I saw on his bed that was lumpy and brown. Yep my work had started.

Once breakfast was up everyone was sitting comfortably until Bailey decided to throw his yoghurt laden spoon at Brandon. Now normally I would have to intercept an angry response from Brandon but today there was nothing, except wiping the yoghurt off his neck. I thought what a good boy he is to resist a chance to punch Bailey and look he is even having a humongous spoonful of rice bubbles. Before I could say how proud of him I was, Brandon turned his head to Bailey, smiled and then spat the rice bubbles all over Bailey. I reprimanded him and laughed at the same time.

When the 2 boys and I eventually got to the garage, I packed the boot full of household things that we no longer needed and wanted to take to the Salvos. It was all great stuff, too good to just throw out. So the double stroller came out of the boot and everything else went in. I even got rid of the single stroller. Why not, and I'm counting down the days until I can get rid of the other one.

We dropped off all the stuff at the Salvation Army store and then headed out to do heaps of things. I thought we should start paying off some of these 8 laybys we have so that was our task for the day. Firstly we went to Medicare. We never normally need to go to Medicare, and I am thankful for that. We waited so long in the que. The boys were fantastic. Then we ventured over to the Bank and then on to Kmart to pick up the boys bikes off layby. Our trolley was full. Then we moved on to Toywold were we had another layby of Christmas toys. The lady couldn't find our layby to start with so that wasn't a good sign. Then she rang all the other sales members at home to see whether they knew where it was and by now I was feeling rather unsure. At this stage Brandon told me he needed to go to the toilet. The toilets at these shops, and I know from experience, are a very long way away- too far away for a little boy to hold on. So I scooped up Brandon and told him to hold on like he has never held on and told Bailey to hold on to the trolley, and then I ran. It's amazing what strength you can find when a child needs to go to the toilet. I knew we wouldn't make it to a loo so I found the nearest exit with the most bushes and trees and ran to it. Relief.

Back to the toy shop we went. When the lady did find our paid for layby, it looked like it had been attacked, and it had. Dubious to whether it had been ransacked I made the lady open it up to check the items off the invoice. Surprise surprise things were missing. We left with some of our layby and are yet to collect the missing items. We won't be shopping there again.

By now our little shopping trolley was laden with parcels and children. You should have seen us. We made quite a sight. It took all my strength to push the trolley and to attempt to control it. But I did it. I had sweat pouring off me by the end, especially as we had parked a very long way away. It's all exercise.

The boys didn't look like sleeping at all today, and they didn't. So we drove to a rug shop to find Brandon another rug for his room. As we sold our pool table yesterday daddy and I may have reclaimed Brandon's rug from his room. So he needed a new one. The shop didn't have Eftpos so we moved on because I had no cash on me. I thought it was a bit silly because I was sure not everyone pays cash for expensive rugs. Maybe I'm wrong.

From there we travelled on in to the big shops to pick up another layby. This one was our huge book layby for the boys. It was hard picking up this layby because I just wanted to read the books with the boys now. But it's only 7 weeks to Christmas so I'll wait.  The 2 boys and I spent the next half hour looking at the BIG W toys. Endless fun for the boys. By now it was 2pm and it was well and truly time for home.

I spent the afternoon putting together Brandon's bike. I had visions of getting the 2 bikes done so that the boys could spend the afternoon riding on them. Alas, with my Chinese instructions and 2 boys running away with parts and pulling bits off the bike, I only achieved 1 bike. Tomorrow I'm ringing a bicycle mechanic as suggested on the box.  I will never do it again. That's my second time putting a kids bike together and it is definitely my last.

We rounded up the very tired and hyperactive boys, Even when they are fed, washed and dressed they are still on the go. We have to drag them to bed. Hopefully Bailey has gone to bed with nothing up his nose.
