The Joy Of Christmas

We had a busy day today with the 2 boys beginning Sunday with swimming lessons. Today was the last swimming lesson for the year. Infact it is the last Sunday lesson. We say goodbye to the boy's teacher's- Morgan for Brandon and Fiona for Bailey. They have been great teaching the boys to swim over the past year. Daddy and I are forever grateful. Nanny A is still visiting us so the boys had the pleasure of having an audience watching them swim. They loved it.

After swimming we travelled to the local supermarket and got a few things for our Christmas Party BBQ we were having tonight. Up at the supermarket there is a big section of the shopping centre roof missing. I asked the bakery assistant what happened and she said that people had stolen a huge excavator and tore into the shop, taken the whole ATM machine out with the machinery, loaded it into the getaway car and got away with it. They left the excavator behind. What a horrible event, but what an amazing story. It would almost make a great movie.

Both boys fell asleep today for 2 hours. Daddy slept, Nanny read and I did some things on the computer. Once the 2 boys woke, everyone except daddy, as he was still asleep, played in Brandon's room. We all drew and did dot-to-dots and read. Then I thought we would leave daddy to sleep and the rest of us would head out to Office Works to buy some office stationary. So off we went. It was still raining and it continued to do so all afternoon. Sometime soon the rain will stop. Let's hope.

Once home, with daddy now awake, we all began cooking for our Christmas Party BBQ. Nanny gave the boys lots and lots of Christmas presents. They were in heaven. They got books and clothes and textas and pencils and sticker books. They also got a remote control truck. Funnily enough Brandon had had his eye on that toy for weeks. The boys were so grateful.  Dinner was fantastic. Bailey created an absolute mess. There is nothing similar to the absolute mess that he creates. It took us longer to clean up after dinner than it did to eat dinner. The boys eventually got to bed in their brand new pyjamas, reading their brand new books. The absolute pleasure and joy on the boys faces with the presents was just priceless.
