We were on the lookout for Pelicans this morning. The 2 boys and I had ventured down to the beach where the local tourist information centre feed the pelicans every day, pelicans pending, at 10am on the dot. There was a collection of other interested people accumulating but still no sign of the pelicans. The lady with the bucket of fish arrived and mentioned that since the Brisbane floods the pelicans hadn't been seen since which is a bit sad because they have been coming for years and years. She was optimistic they would return. So the 2 boys and I went to the nearby park and had a very big play.
Strangely there was absolutely no other kids there today and none turned up while we were all playing. Once the boys realised that they were the only 2 kids playing the boys actually got in and played together. They still managed to put a lot of sand all over each other. Bailey decided that he would have a rest in the sand. The only problem with that was that he laid down face first. He was covered in sand, especially because he was also covered in sunscreen. It was very hot today and the 2 boys and I were starting to fade so we headed home.
We all sat in the cool for awhile before the boys started going crazy. Daddy came home and after some time the 2 boys and daddy went and jumped on the trampoline. I had a busy afternoon at work and in fact didn't finish work until just after 7:30pm. As the boys were so very excited to see me they didn't go to sleep until another hour later. By that time the boys had sent daddy crazy so while daddy was recollecting his sanity, I put both boys to bed. Daddy did his customary Friday night event- through sheer exhaustion he fell asleep on the lounge, so I had a quiet little night. I paid bills.
