Another sunny day although the flood levels continued to rise over night. Over 120,000 people are still without electricity while there are so many people still missing and confirmed dead. There is absolutely nothing like it. Today 200 metres of the riverside concrete footpath floated down the river. Thanks to one little tug boat and it's captain the footpath just missed 2 major bridges. Amazing footage and amazing bravery.
Our day just seems almost so irrelevant. Brandon started the day jumping on the trampoline while Bailey had a major sleep in. He slept for 12 hours, although both Bailey and Brandon had a very disturbed sleep. I think that Bailey was having a growth spurt because when he woke up this morning he was much taller. It was just very strange vibes yesterday. But today is a new day. So after Brandon had jumped and jumped I got him ready for Karate. Daddy took Brandon to his lesson while I stayed at home and played with Bailey. We watched Thomas (again) while playing with trains and building train tracks. His little life revolves around trains. He just loves them.
From there, once Brandon and daddy had arrived home, we packed a bag and went off to the huge indoor playground nearby. We stayed there for a long time. Our goal was for the kids to actually have a run around, get exhausted and then have a sleep. Daddy and I achieved all 3 things. We had lunch at the playground as the boys came and went between food and play. Brandon met 1 little boy about the same age and they just played and played and played. Brandon and Bailey spent a lot of time playing together too. Brandon looked after Bailey so well. Daddy and I were so very proud of him. They boys ended up sleeping on the way home. Hooray!! But it wasn't for long. Both boys were up and running again. With daddy asleep I took the 2 boys outside where they jumped on the trampoline again and laughed and had a great time. Then we started weeding.
Several hours later our jungle of a garden now semi resembled a suburban backyard. We were all too tired to cook dinner so daddy took the 2 boys to the supermarket and then they went and picked up some pizzas. I would love to say that I kicked back for 30minutes reading a book and having a glass of wine, but I didn't. I raced around making beds and getting pyjamas ready and cleaning the table so that we could actually all sit down and have dinner together.
Dinner was delicious. The kids were quiet for an extended period of time for them- which was about 4 minutes. But the silence was golden and the kids loved the pizza. Eventually we bathed the boys and played and read to the boys before they both decided they were hungry again. So everyone was back in the kitchen eating again. Finally their little tummies were satisfied so off to bed they went.
