For the first time in my life today I organised a flood evacuation plan. Apparently we are on flood alert now which is a bit scary. It now just has to stop raining so the sun can come out and dry up all the rain. Fingers crossed.
I'd like to say that the 2 boys and daddy and I had a fascinating day, but that would be a lie. Instead we all had one of the worst days in our almost 2 years of being a family of 4. Today our main goal for the day was to get some very important documents photocopied and then witnessed. The whole process took us nearly 6 hours. Yes that's right. It took 2 boys and 2 adults nearly 6 hours to get 14 documents photocopied and witnessed. It all started going bad when the newsagent at the shops told us that their photocopier had broken down. We traipsed all over our local suburb trying to achieve what we had planned but it just kept going to mush. Luckily I had my lovely husband by my side so that we could conquer every single tantrum that was thrown our way. And there was a lot of tantrums happening today. The tantrum pattern for the day went like this. Brandon was first, then Bailey, then Brandon, and Brandon, and Brandon, then back to Bailey and the day ended with another major tantrum from Brandon, and a smaller one from Bailey. Exhausting. I think at some point in the day the possibility of boarding school for the boys was mentioned.
So daddy and I had a delicious Thai meal for dinner care of the new Thai restaurant just opened up nearby. Then thanks to the petrol station that kindly supplied the dessert- ice creams, while getting petrol. It was an interesting and trying day. I think that it will be a day in my life that I will truly never forget, especially because all I felt like I was thinking was Oh My God!!
The first photo above is a clear representation of what happens to small children when they spend the day having tantrums and forget to have a sleep during the day. They fall asleep at dinner time while eating a homemade ice block.
The second photo is what happens when 2 active boys are cooped up inside because of the rain- they break free and run outside and jump on the trampoline in the rain.
And just in case anyone is wondering- lawn bugs survive floods. Today they proved that they can successfully survive in at least 3 inches of water. They just kept on munching while it just kept on raining.
Just three things to say Busy Mum:
ReplyDelete- that iceblock looks delicious!
- you need to buy a photocopier
- do you have an inflatable boat?
Hope today is better! Good luck with the rain.

Hi Nanny and Poppy C,
ReplyDeleteI am actually building an Arc, unless the lawn bugs get tired of swimming in our backyard and eating our grass and decide to jump on board. xx
